Practical and Palatable

         The Plant History

The Lysva Plant history starts in the 18th century. On July 8th, 1785 the Perm Government Chamber issued a decree permitting the Duchess Varvara Alexandrovna Shakhovskaya, born Stroganova, to build a new plant "with two blast furnaces, necessary quantity of hammers, with factories and other buildings". Two years later the plant of the Duke Boris Grigorievich Shakhovskiy and his wife Varvara Alexandrovna was started up. In the 19th century the plate steel with the owner's mark, a mythic unicorn, becomes known worldwide. In 1913 the first facility for enameling of thin_plate steel articles was established at the plant.

We love our home. We decorate it, fondle and cherish like a beloved child. And how many pleasant moments in our life are associated with kitchen chats! The inviting smell of homemade pies and Russian cabbage soup (stchi) with yeast muffins keeps calling us to our father's house for the rest of our lives. What is the secret of this attraction?

Only now, having become a mistress of a big house, I understand the importance of kitchenware for my mother and grandmother where they cooked all those delicious things. The unique orange pans in our house bore the LMZ mark. In the 1970s it was nearly impossible to buy them in Moscow. Brought from vacations in the Baltics they have lived to the present day. Each housewife knows that it is better to make tasty borsch and solyanka in enameled pans, otherwise the soup loses its color and taste. And any pickles prepared in enameled ware are not worse than those made in a wooden tub, since the surface is coated with silicate enamel resistant to acids. For many years already the sets offered by the Urals manufacturer - Lysva Metallurgical Plant – have been rejoicing the cockles of a good housewife's heart.

Today the enamel production line includes three main workshops with more than 1600 employees. Modern equipment and latest methods of silicate enamel production enable engineers and designers to develop new enamel coating compositions improving properties and appearance of manufactured items. Quality of products is the special care of the plant management. The enterprise uses ISO 9001-2000 certified quality management system.

The efforts of the plant personnel have not been lost upon. Lysva kitchenware won many awards for its durability and hygienic safety. These are just a few of them: 21st Century Platinum Quality Labels, golden medals "High Quality.New Millenium". Flamingo and Shotlandka sets, as well as kitchenware set with torus element were also highly estimated. Flamingo set includes three pearshaped pans 2, 3 and 4.5 liters.

Surprisingly pleasant color of enamel coating - softpink with lilac tint - really resembles the plumage of this exotic bird. Luisa decal - a fine painted flower design _ is also good. A very romantic set!

Shotlandka will hit the taste of fans of a more avantgarde style. Low cylindrical pans (1.5, 2 and 3 liters) feature checkered design. Especially elegant appearance is ensured by glass covers with metal handles of interesting geometrical shape.

However the set with torus element is a real find for women combining work and house duties. This magic element will make it possible to cook soup in the morning before going to work, because water in such pan boils 30% faster. Lysva engineers did not forget about the children either. The everlasting problem of young mothers - how to feed a child from environment_friendly and nice tableware - is now solved. Child's set Igrushki ("Toys") includes a pap pan of 1 liter, a pan of 1.5 liter, two mugs and two deep dishes. All items are decorated with funny images - saving from boredom while eating. This set was also awarded with Golden Label "All the Best Things to Children".

Along with the above mentioned prod ucts the plant produces a lot of other orig inal goods. Mramor, Palitra, Carmen and many other sets will please the customer's sight. It is fair to say that the plant design ers have made a real revolution in the decoration of enamel ware. Lysva enamel even seems to rank over its European analogs. The price of the high quality product lower since it is made here in Russia and therefore is not subject to duties.

The complete range of products can be found at the website of the plant: www.aklmz.ru.

And I will go and look for a bright red set with torus element in Moscow's Danko network stores. Practical and palatable!
