Russian market of the metallic kitchen utensils: general situation


You can do nothing in the kitchen without metallic cookware. This article is devoted to the prob! lem from where and how metallic kitchen utensils appear in the kitchens of costumers and how serious the potential of the Russian producers in this market is. Russia: rise of production The production of the metallic kitchen utensils in Russia increases. In 2005 annual output came to approximately 57, 5 millions, in 2006 it will increase on 2, 8%. Steel (first of all enamel) and aluminum remain the main materials for the Russian producers. "Severstal_Emal" (the Vologda region) and "LMZ_STEMA" (the Perm region) are conceded to be leaders of the enamel metallic kitchen utensils' production in Russian Federation. Russian production is exported mainly in the states – former republics of USSR.

During last years non-stick cook ware became more and more popular. In order to satisfy the  needs of the market "Zavod "Demidovskiy" (the Sverdlovsk region) and "Каlitva" began to produce this type of kitchen utensils. Sales and import In spite of the low index of production of stainless steel's kitchen utensils demand for these goods increase. At the same time demand for kitchen utensils of enamel steel is still great. The popularity of non_stick cookware also constantly rises.

The lack of supply of high-quality kitchen utensils of stainless steel became the reason why foreign companies began to fulfill the market. In 2005 import of this type of cookware in Russia came to 53, 6% in comparison with 25, 3% in 2003. According to Rondell GmbH and Golder Electroniks, there are more than 600 Russian and foreign brands in the Russian market. And there are only few reliable brands among all of them.

 

Russian production Steel enamel-ware
 
Russian steel enamel-ware is produced mainly (more than 90%) by large enterprises, such as "Severstal-Emal" (the Vologda region), "LMZ-STEMA" (the Perm region), "Emal" (the Chelyabinsk region), "Kusnetskiy metallurgical combine" (the Kemerov region). Not so long ago "SeverstalEmal" has started a new shop. Its investment was $7, 9 millions. For the marketing purposes the production of the new shop obtained a new market brand - Vitross.
 
Aluminum-ware
 
Aluminum press_worked cookware is produced in 11 regions of Russia. Aluminum non-stick cookware is produced in 6 regions of Russia. Rates of increase of the output show the high demand for this production. One of the largest produces of the aluminum-ware "Zavod "Demidovskiy" put more than 200 articles of non-stick (Teflon (r), Classic (DuPont), Scandia (Akzo Nobel) cookware on the market. It presents a wider variety of goods: all sorts of pans and frying pans, and different special staff. The range of the production includes cookware both economic and high_class levels. High_class kitchen utensils of "Zavod "Demidovskiy" can be compared with that of foreign brands. Several years ago the factory began to turn out non_stick cookware ScovO. The rolling technology makes it possible to produce high quality cookware by the lower price. Another large producer of aluminum-ware is "Neva-Metall Posuda", which turn out cast kitchen utensils with polyceramic coating. This company release cast aluminum non-stick ware for sale in different sizes: pans - 22, 24 and 26 cm, grill-pans - 24 and 26 cm, 5, 5-6 mm of the bottom and 3, 5 mm of sides. Thick bottom and sides contribute to even distribution of the warmth, reduction of consumption of electro energy and of the weight of the product. This cookware is remarkable also for its high durability. Now all of the production of "Neva-Metall Posuda" is put on the market with trade name "Petrogrand".
 
Cast-iron-ware
 

Cast-iron-ware is produced on the plant of the machine-building in Kusinsk (the region of Chelyabinsk). The assortment includes pans of different sizes, pots of 25 and 50 l, 18 types of pans, coppers and stew-pans. All the production has double enamel coating, decoration and toning. The description of the diagrams The choice of this analyze was made assuming the perspectives of the market: high capacity of market, high buying attitude and well-informing of the population. The market of metallic kitchen utensils grows. Traditionally it is divided into two segments: retail and professional cookware (HoReCa). For this analyze it was chosen the market of steel non_stick and non-non-stick enamel-ware (without HoReCa). The capacity of the Moscow market of metallic kitchen utensils This analyze was made on the materials of RBK and analytic investigation of our magazine and the profile companies. One can assert the dynamic growth of the market, as well as the capacities of the Russian produces. Correlation of the Russian production and import is nearly 58/42, which means that approximately 58 percent of the Russian market of metallic kitchen utensils belongs to Russian produces.
